1870 - Construction Date1896 - Reconstructed

1906 - Earthquake caused severe damage in April of 1906

1908 - Year light first lit

1977 - Automated

1984 - Point Arena Lighthouse Keepers acquired a 25 year lease of the light station.

1992 - Used as a setting for the movie "Forever Young".

2000 - Point Arena Lighthouse Keepers became the official lighthouse owners.

Listed in the National Register (Ref #90002189 - Point Arena Light - Light Stations of California MPS), Point Arena is an active lighthouse dedicated to aiding in navigation.  Additionally, onsite you'll find a museum and vacation rentals managed by the Point Arena Lighthouse Keepers, Inc. Guided and self-guided tours available daily. Hours are weekdays from 10 am to 2:30 pm and Saturdays & Sundays from 10 am to 3:30 pm. Site Admission Fee (Non-profit): $5.00 adults / $1.00 children under 12
